The MAGDALENA model , the archduchess. What honor and confidence have been given to me by Archduke Imre of Austria and his wife Kathleen to make their own christening gown. They wanted it to be sumptuous, it was. This dress was studied and designed by the Archduchess, seeking a perfect and varied harmony in the play of small pleats and nine laces with different patterns, widths and heights (28m of lace on this dress).

It is composed on its breastplate:

  • By a few small chevron pleats on the skirt,
  • By a series of chevron lace, assembled together of French origin:

- An in-between “small roses” lace from Valenciennes, of great finesse, 1.2 cm wide for a length of 8m

- An embroidered Organza insert, provided by the client

- A “plumetis” in-between, Valencian lace, 1.7 cm wide for a length of 2.50m.

- A “plumetis” in-between, Valencian lace, 2.5 cm wide for a footage of 6m80.

- An old lace ruffle, provided by the client.

- The whole plastron surrounded by a flounce of lace from Valenciennes "bouquets of roses", of great finesse, 4 cm wide for a measurement of 5m50.

As well as three additional laces were used for the under dress. UNDER DRESS AND BEGUIN INCLUDED IN THE PRICE

This sacrament dress, bearing the 100% handmade label, is made in France, in the CECILE DE LA CHAPELLE bespoke workshop in Asnières sur Seine.

This model is a sure value to pass on to future generations ... Wonderful!
